The Environment Fund Administration intends to launch a program to finance up to 20,000 persons wishing to install small-scale power plants. Citizens installing these photovoltaic panels can use their energy for their own consumption, and the surplus can be sold on the network, distributors being forced to take up energy. The basic condition is that, in order to benefit from funding, the power discharged into the network must be at most equal to the power it has contracted for the consumption in the network, not higher. Romanians who want to switch to green energy will be helped by the state with 90% of the value of the investment, but not more than 20,000 lei. At least this is proposed by the new financing guide currently under public debate at the Ministry of the Environment.More
